Niektóre aspekty analizy ruchu pojazdu na podstawie zapisów EDR – przegląd literaturyIstotnym elementem analizy dotyczącej zdarzeń drogowych jest ustalenie zmian prędkości pojazdu przed i po kolizji. Coraz częściej i coraz chętniej wykorzystywane są dane zapisane w modułach EDR. Parametry ruchu pojazdu odczytane z zapisów EDR nie mogą być jednak zawsze traktowane bez zastrzeżeń jako parametry rzeczywiste, ponieważ występują ograniczenia wynikające m.in. ze sposobu zapisywania danych w module EDR, niesprawności pojazdu oraz specyfiki konkretnego zdarzenia. Konieczna jest świadomość tych ograniczeń przy korzystaniu z tych danych.
Some aspects of vehicle motion analysis based on EDR modules records – a review of literatureAn essential element of a traffic event analysis is to identify the vehicle speed changes prior to and following the collision. This task is increasingly assisted by the data recorded in EDR modules. The vehicle motion quantities obtained from EDR, however, should not always be treated unreservedly as the actual parameters owing to the limitations resulting from the data recording procedure in a EDR module, vehicle defects and the specific nature of the given event. The awareness of these limitations is indispensable when deploying these data.

Artykuł zawiera analizę możliwości zweryfikowania odczucia przez kierowcę i pasażerów samochodu kolizji przy małych prędkościach uderzenia, wynoszących kilka lub kilkanaście kilometrów na godzinę. Do takich kolizji dochodzi niejednokrotnie podczas manewrowania na placach parkingowych. Odczucie przez osoby wewnątrz samochodu uderzenia w inny pojazd bywa utrudnione z uwagi na jednoczesne hamowanie pojazdu. Szarpnięcie spowodowane zderzeniem bywa często zbyt słabe, aby osoba je zarejestrowała.
An analysis of the possibility to perceive a collision occurrence at low impact speedAn analysis is performed of the possibility of vehicle driver and occupants to recognize if they are involved in a collision at low impact speeds of a few or several km/h. Such collisions frequently happen during manoeuvres on parking lots. It is difficult for vehicle occupants to feel the impact against another vehicle because braking takes place simultaneously. The jolt caused by the collision is often too slight to be registered by a person.

Druga część artykułu jest przyczynkiem do zbioru danych, zawierających prędkości pieszych poruszających się w różnych warunkach.
Parameters of pedestrian movement – an article contributing to understanding of the problemBased on literature data, in the first part of the article, the author discusses values of acceleration occurring in the initial phase of pedestrian movement – this initial phase is significant for drivers in terms of the possibility of recognising a threat resulting from the presence of a pedestrian. The second part of the article is a contribution to the collection of data on the speed of pedestrians moving in various conditions.

Podaje metody rachunkowe pozwalające oszacować podstawowe parametry czasowo-przestrzenne realizacji takiego manewru.
Overturning a motorcycle as a defensive manoeuvreOn the basis of literature data and his own deliberations, the author carries out an analysis of a defensive manoeuvre consisting in the deliberate overturning of a motorbike, which is sometimes used by motorcyclists when there is a direct threat of collision. He presents calculation methods that allow the estimation of basic time-distance parameters of such a manoeuvre.

Niekiedy obraz uszkodzeń powstałych przy mającym charakter otarcia się zderzeniu dwóch samochodów, usytuowanych względem siebie pod kątem ostrym, wyraźnie różni się od typowego obrazu śladów pokolizyjnych. Warto wtedy rozważyć, czy w trakcie kolizji nie miał miejsca tzw. efekt rampowy, tj. wjeżdżanie koła samochodu uderzającego na koło samochodu uderzonego. Autor, na podstawie danych literaturowych i własnych doświadczeń rzeczoznawczych, opisuje mechanizm tego zjawiska.
"The ramp effect" in a vehicle collisionSometimes, the damages that have arisen during a collision between two cars located at an acute angle to each other – in which they have "rubbed" against each other – clearly look differently from the typical look of post-collision traces. It is then worth considering whether the so-called ramp effect has occurred in the course of the collision – i.e., where the wheel of the colliding car drives onto the wheel of the hit car. The author, on the basis of literature data and his own vehicle appraisal experiments, describes the mechanism of this phenomenon.

Analysis of the initial phase of motorcycle brakingThe author indicates the systematic errors that can be committed in the course of analysis of the initial phase of braking of motorcycles. Based on literature data, the author presents an approach that minimises inaccuracies resulting from assuming a classical linear course of increase in values of braking deceleration.

"Highside" – a motorcycle overturning on a bend in the roadBased on literature data and his own deliberations, the author discusses the dangerous phenomenon of a motorcycle overturning on a bend, onto the opposite side (the high side) to that towards which he was inclined on the road when going around the bend. He presents a way of calculating the speed at which the motorcyclist is thrown from the vehicle using an oblique projection model.

W oparciu o dane literaturowe i własne spostrzeżenia autor przedstawia informacje dotyczące tego typu uszkodzeń. Informacje te mogą być pomocne biegłym i rzeczoznawcom, np. w toku analiz zasadności zgłaszanych roszczeń.
Hitting the edge of an obstacle with a car wheel. Results in the light of literature dataDamage to tyres and wheel rims of vehicles arise not only as a result of driving onto curbs, but also as a result of brushing against protruding edges of obstacles or driving into holes in the road. Based on literature data and his own observations, the author presents information concerning this type of damage, which may be helpful to experts and appraisers, e.g., in the course of analyses of the validity of submitted claims.

W oparciu o dane literaturowe i własne spostrzeżenia autor omawia niektóre możliwości wykorzystania śladów pokolizyjnych zarysowań powstałych na nadwoziach pojazdów do rekonstrukcji wypadku. Omawia możliwości: oszacowania prędkości przesuwania się uderzającego pojazdu względem przeszkody, odtworzenia mechanizmu powstawania zarysowań o kształcie „agrafki", a także oszacowania wartości opóźnienia hamowania pojazdu.
Analysis of post-collision scratches on car bodies. Some possibilities of their use in accident reconstructionOn the basis of literature data and his own observations, the author discusses some possibilities of using post-collision traces of scratches formed on car bodies for accidents reconstruction. He discusses possibilities in these areas: estimating the speed of movement of the colliding vehicle relative to the obstacle, recreating the mechanism of formation of scratches in the shape of a safety pin, and estimating the value of vehicle deceleration.

Na podstawie literatury przedmiotu i własnych analiz autor przedstawia specyficzną problematykę rekonstrukcji wypadku polegającego na uderzeniu motocykla w bok samochodu nieruchomego i samochodu będącego w ruchu. W szczególności wskazuje, że szacowanie prędkości kolizyjnej motocykla na podstawie skrócenia rozstawu osi jego kół może być stosowane tylko wtedy, gdy wiadomo, że uderzony samochód był nieruchomy lub poruszał się z niewielką prędkością, nieprzekraczającą 20 km/h. W przypadku większych prędkości ruchu samochodu metoda ta powoduje znaczące niedoszacowanie prędkości motocykla.
Analysis of motorcycle collisions with stationary and moving carsOn the basis of the literature on the subject and his own analyses, the author presents specific problems of the reconstruction of an accident in which a motorcycle drove into the side of a stationary car and the side of a moving car. In particular, he indicates that estimating the motorcycle's collision velocity based on the wheel base shortening can be applied only when it is known whether the hit car was stationary or moving at a low velocity not exceeding 20 km/h. In the case of car movement higher velocities this method leads to significant underestimation of the velocity of the motorcycle.

Accident involving a motorcycle on a bend of a road. Some aspects of reconstructionOn the basis of the literature and his own analyses, the author discusses selected accidents in which a motorbike fell over on a bend in a road. He describes the causes of such situations and some problems linked with the reconstruction of such events. He presents a way of calculating the deceleration of a motorbike that can be achieved on a bend in the road, taking into account the changing tilt angle of the motorcycle.

Motorcycle motion parameters during overturning and sliding on its sideReconstruction of an accident involving a motorcycle is almost always linked with the necessity of defining the loss of speed of the motorcycle during motion on its side. The author, on the basis of literature data and his own analyses, presents an approach that takes into account parameters of a motorcycle moving in such a way, and also the direction of the force of impact relative to the vehicle's symmetry plane.

Wykazuje, w jaki sposób o możliwości uniknięcia uderzenia w przeszkodę decyduje jej szerokość i odległość od motocykla, warunki przyczepności oraz prędkość motocykla. Zwraca uwagę, że istotne są także umiejętności kierującego oraz moment bezwładności motocykla.
By-passing a fixed obstacle riding a motorcycle. Manoeuver simulation problems against the background of literatureThe author discusses the criteria which must be fulfilled in order to successfully pass by a fixed obstacle on a motorcycle. He shows how the width of the obstacle and its distance from the motorcycle, road adhesion conditions and speed of the motorcycle all play a role in the possibility of avoiding a collision. He notes that the abilities of the rider and the moment of inertia of the motorcycle are also important.

Na przykładzie motocykla marki Boss Hoss autor przedstawia procedurę wyceny w podejściu porównawczym. Metoda ta wykorzystywana jest zwykle do szacowania wartości maszyn. Pozwala ona na wykorzystanie wszystkich posiadanych istotnych informacji, dotyczących przedmiotu wyceny.
Valuation of an untypical motorcycleIn expert practice, there is sometimes a need to carry out the valuation of an untypical (custom) vehicle, which is not encompassed by databases of such systems as Info-Ekspert or Eurotax. Using the example of a Boss Hoss motorcycle, the author presents the procedure of valuation using a comparative approach. This method is usually used to estimate the value of machines. It allows the use of all significant information possessed concerning the subject of valuation.

Niniejszy artykuł nie przedstawia wszystkich możliwych formuł, mogących znaleźć zastosowanie w analizie wypadków udziałem pojazdów jednośladowych, ale przedstawia formuły najprostsze, które mogą dać relatywnie zadowalające rezultaty, jeśli ich stosowaniu będzie towarzyszyć świadomość skomplikowania analizowanych zdarzeń drogowych i poziomu błędów, mogących obarczać wyniki obliczeń.
Analytical methods of determining impact velocity in collisions involving motorcycles. Literature reviewThe author discusses several calculation methods used to determine pre-collision speeds of a motorcycle and car. Next, he compares results obtained using the discussed formulae with results of experiments carried out by G. Kasanický and P. Kohút, published in a work entitled "Analyza nehod jednostopowych vozidel", Žilinska Univerzita v Žilinie Publishers, 2000. This article does not present all formulae that can be applied in the analysis of accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles, but presents the simplest formulae which can give relatively satisfactory results if their application is accompanied by an awareness of the complexity of analyzed road accidents and the level of error that results of calculations may be burdened with.

Some cases illustrating the possibility of determining the direction of the force of impact on the basis of post-accident tracesThe article discusses cases of damage to vehicles and a tree trunk in which, on the basis of post-accident traces, it is possible to determine the direction and the sense of the force of impact, and also the direction of motion of the obstacle in relation to the vehicle.

The maximum speed of a motorcycle on a bend in the roadThe article discusses the influence of the geometry of tyres and the position of the rider on the maximum speed of a motorcycle attainable on a bend in the road. The author, based on literature data, shows on the basis of an example, how the dimensions of the tyres and the leaning of the motorcyclist's body into the inside of the curve influence calculations of the maximum value of the speed of the motorcyclist on the curve.
